Very useful information for laptop :-
Most of the people who use laptops are worried about its battery life and speed. Once the battery fully charged, the laptop battery lasts for two to three hours normally. Suddenly running out of laptop batteries during travel or during an important presentation can cause a big problem for anyone, especially when there are no power plugs or power bank arround you. At that time by trying some methods, apart from using your laptop battery for a long time, you can save the battery from getting damaged quickly.
Power management :-
The power consumption of battery of laptop can be reduced by adjusting the power management. The higher the brightness of the laptop screen, the more electricity will be spent so keep brightness of screen as low as possible. Go to the control panel and set the battery usage to minimum using the power options. This will reduce the brightness of your laptop screen, the speed of the laptop processor will decrease and the laptop will go into sleep mode quickly if not used . thus This will not affect your work either.
Hibernate :-
Putting the computer in a stand by, turn when not working costs less electricity. But if your laptop has facility of hybernate, it will save more power. To do so, click on the power options in the control panel, find the hibernate tab in the open dialog box. If it exists, open it and tick on the enable hibernate box. If Hibernate tab is not visible, then your laptop does not have this arrangement.
Power leak :-
If the flash drives, external hard disks and speakers, Wi-Fi cards etc are connected to the laptop, then disconnect or remove them because all of the power they need comes from the laptop battery itself.
Cd-dvd :-
Use CD and DVD drives to a minimum as you can, while running the laptop from the laptop's battery as this process consumes a lot of power.
Battery charging :-
Do not leave the battery unused for a long period of time after charging. If the battery is charged fully, then use the laptop at least once in one or two weeks. If the laptop has a Lithian ion battery then do not discharge it completely . Because If your battery is non-Lithian ion, re-charge it only after fully discharging e
in every two-three weeks. In case you are not using the laptop for a long period of time, keep the Nan Lithian Ion battery fully discharged. to know about category of your battery See the laptop manual , you will find easily.
Multi-tasking :-
If the laptop is running from a battery, do not use multiple or more then two to three applications at the same time. Usually, we are working in Microsoft Office and simultaneously open websites or email on Internet browsers . This happens through multi-tasking. But remember, the more the process of programs, the higher the power consumption. Using one software at a time will save battery more.
Keep cool :-
- Do not keep the laptop in very strong sunlight or in another place of heat.
- While working, keep in mind that the temperature around you should be too normal but not too high because the lower it is, the better the laptop's battery will work.
- Make sure that there are no airways closed, that there is no obstruction in the board and keep them clean from dirt and dust time to time.
Defag :-
If there is too much fragmentation (dispersed files) in your hard disk then the processor has to work harder for file management and also costs more power. To avoid this, keep defragging the hard disk. This is very easy to do.
follow the following steps-
Go to sub my computer and right click on the C Drive. Now go to properties section> tools> defragmentation. then Press the defragment now button given there. This will store the data in the hard disk correctly.
